We're 14 Weeks Along!

Your baby can now squint, frown, grimace, pee, and possibly suck his thumb! Thanks to brain impulses, his facial muscles are getting a workout as his tiny features form one expression after another. His kidneys are producing urine, which he releases into the amniotic fluid around him — a process he'll keep up until birth. He can grasp, too, and if you're having an ultrasound now, you may even catch him sucking his thumb.
Your baby's stretching out. From head to bottom, he measures 3 1/2 inches — about the size of a lemon — and he weighs 1 1/2 ounces. He's starting to develop an ultra-fine, downy covering of hair, called lanugo, all over his body. Though you can't feel his tiny punches and kicks yet, your little pugilist's hands and feet (which now measure about 1/2 inch long) are more flexible and active.

Well, I finally went shopping for some maternity clothes. I still haven't gotten my bikini yet, but I do have a favorite picked out. Most of my clothes don't quite fit anymore...The clothes are so much cuter now than when I had Jason! Now everyone has maternity: Ann Taylor, Gap, Old Navy, OH MY! I am so excited. I am trying not to get carried away, but it's really hard for a girl like me who loves to shop.

Victoria and I went to Babies 'R' Us and got her registered. All the stuff is so cool! I can't wait to find out what I'm having so I can go register. Our next appointment is April 1st and then we should have our big ultrasound soon after that. I can't wait!

We made it!

I am finally through my first trimester! It has been rough, but it was all worth it when we got to see Baby Grubbs for the first time. We had our sonogram on Feb. 25 and everything looks great! Our estimated due date is September 11.
Jared and I are so excited! We still get all choked up every time we hear the heartbeat. It was so neat because now they do 4D sonograms. It is amazing! It is so strange to think that even though the baby is so tiny, it looks just like a fully developed baby.
The coolest part of our visit was that my brother, Roy, and his wife, Victoria, were there to find out the sex of their baby. We go to the same OB and we made our appointments on the same day so we could all be there for both sonograms.
This is their first child and I was so excited to see my niece for the first time! I can't wait to be the cool aunt that takes her to get her nails done. She will be arriving on July 23.
I am starting to get my belly and I am so thrilled! I loved being pregnant with Jason, and this time there is an extra bonus-I get to wear a maternity bikini!
Now that my first trimester (and the TAKS test) are behind me, I hope to be feeling much better!
